Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions carriers ask before starting with Skylink.
01
Do I need my own MC authority to work with Skylink?
Yes. Skylink provides dispatch support rather than operating as the carrier. You need an active MC authority, appropriate insurance, and the necessary carrier documents for onboarding. We can help guide you through the setup process.
02
Is there a long-term contract required?
No. Skylink operates on a month-to-month basis with no long-term lock-in contracts. You stay with us because you want to, not because you have to. There are no termination fees or penalties.
03
Does Skylink force dispatch loads?
Never. Skylink's approach is built around carrier choice. We present load options, provide negotiation support, and share broker details, but you make the final decision before accepting any load.
04
What equipment types do you dispatch?
We support dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, conestoga, hotshot, box truck, and power only. Each equipment type receives a specialized dispatch strategy based on market conditions and lane density.
05
How much does your dispatch service cost?
Our dispatch fees start at 5% of the load value for standard equipment (dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, conestoga). Hotshot dispatch is 7% and box truck dispatch is 8%. There are no hidden fees or monthly minimums.
06
How quickly can I start getting loads?
Once your onboarding documents are complete and verified, most carriers begin receiving load support within 2 to 4 hours. Our team works quickly to get you set up and moving.
07
Do you offer factoring support?
Yes. We help coordinate invoices, rate confirmations, and factoring submissions. We can also connect you with our factoring partners for faster payment workflows and fuel advance options.
08
Do you work with owner-operators and small fleets?
Absolutely. Owner-operators and small fleets are our primary focus. We understand the unique challenges of running a one-truck or small fleet operation and provide the support needed to maximize weekly revenue and reduce stress.
